Bulk verification

The bulk verification tool is a great option if you don't need to verify data on a regular basis, or if you have existing databases you want to clean.

Data uploaded to the bulk verification tool is verified against our datasets, formatted for consistency and appended with metadata to enrich your database.

Bulk verification methods

This bulk cleansing and enriching of data and can be implemented in 2 ways:

  1. Addressfinder Portal - no integration needed simply upload .csv file in the portal

  2. Verification APIs - advanced integration utilising the Address Verification API or Email Verification API within systems

One-off verification jobs in the Addressfinder Portal

The Bulk Verification tool can only verify one tupe of data at a time. If you want to verify both addresses and emails, you must run two separate verification jobs.

Steps for bulk verification in portal

  1. Export your spreadsheet or database as a CSV with the data to verify stored in a single column. You can use the CONCATENATE function in your spreadsheet to combine multiple cells into one.
  2. In the bulk verification tool, click New Verification Job.
  3. Select the data type and upload your CSV file.
  4. Select the column in the preview containing the data. If the first row doesn’t contain data, check the First row contain headers checkbox.
  5. Customise the job’s settings (optional) and click Start Verifying.
  6. The bulk verification job will be queued and start running in the background, you can leave the page. You will receive an email when the file is ready.
  7. You can download the verified CSV in the Portal for 7 days after the job is completed. After that, the file will be permanently deleted from our system.

The updated CSV includes the original data alongside the verified metadata.

Bulk verificaiton utilises the Address Verification service, so it is good to understand how this works to make good decisions regarding addresses which fail to match.
